Laser Hair Reduction
How does Laser Hair Reduction Work?
LASER HAIR REMOVAL CLIENTS MUST ARRIVE ON TIME OR EARLIER FOR THEIR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS. THERE IS NO 10-MINUTE COURTESY WINDOW.
Laser Hair Reduction: IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a broad-spectrum light source that effectively reduces hair growth in a non-invasive, non-ablative way.
Laser Hair Reduction: On average, most people require 8-12 treatments to achieve 80% hair reduction. Appointments should be scheduled every 4 weeks for the first half of the treatments and every 6 weeks for the second half. In some cases, additional treatments may be necessary. After completing all sessions, touch-ups may be needed, typically between 4-12 months, depending on hair growth. It's important to understand that hormonal imbalances can affect the effectiveness of the treatment. In such cases, electrolysis is recommended. Please note that laser hair removal is not effective for blonde and red hair, which will not respond to the treatment.
You must shave 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Contraindications: Although it is impossible to list every potential risk and complication, the following are recognized as known contraindications. Furthermore, it is your responsibility to fully and accurately disclose all medical history prior to initial treatment, as well as provide any medical updates at all future treatment sessions. Lack of results: I understand it may take multiple treatments to obtain optimal results for hair reduction and IPL. I understand I may not experience complete clearance, and that it usually takes multiple treatments. The treatment may not completely or permanently improve hair reduction. It is important that your expectations be realistic and understand the procedure has its limitations. Additional procedures may be necessary to achieve desired effect.
Pain: You may experience slight burning, scratchiness, tingling or irritation of the skin. These sensations are usually temporary and typically subside within a few hours after treatment. A sudden reappearance of redness or pain is a sign of infection.
Pigment/Color Change/Sun Exposure: Not following post-treatment instructions increases the risk of these pigment changes, particularly if the treated area is exposed to the sun. To minimize this risk, you must avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks after the treatment. Additionally, it is essential to wear a daily SPF facial moisturizer, which your esthetician can recommend.
Redness/Swelling/Bruising/Scabbing: Short-term redness or swelling of the treated area is common and typically lasts for a few hours to a couple of days. In most cases, these side effects subside within 24 to 48 hours.
